Hi Guys

I just updated my Gallery 1.4 to 1.5.12. To make sure everything works, I tried on my local computer first, and everything works just fine. Now I uploaded all the stuff to my productive Webserver (Webspace, I don't have root access) and my theme is not working at all. That means that all the design elements that are supplied to the site from the theme directory are just not present (see Attachment). Now I downloaded the gallery folder and the database and put it onto my local computer (only changed include/config.inc.php) and the theme is displayed again.

As I did not change the theme when updating from 1.4., I guess I have to work on that but I don't know where to start...

Any guesses or tips what to do, because I don't really have a development environment as it is working on my local computer...

Did you read your document package (or the link at the top of the page) about how it is required to update custom themes?

Please post a link to your Coppermine or zip and attach your custom theme if you need to return for assistance.

I just checked, style.css and template.html got updated automatically (or so it seems) but theme.php is completely empty except from (and some comments):

define('THEME_IS_XHTML10_TRANSITIONAL',1); // Remove this if you edit this template until
// you have validated it. See docs/theme.htm.

// HTML template for template sys_menu spacer
$template_sys_menu_spacer ='<img src="themes/water_drop/images/orange_carret.gif" width="8" height="8" border="0" alt="" />';

I just checked my backup and the theme.php used to be empty before upgrade so there is no change here (the theme is kind of an empty theme anyway as the gallery is displayed within a joomla installation so it doesn't really need anything except from some css stuff)

If I had to guess, I would go for: really dumb mistake that is too obvious to see...

I attached the theme, and if that would help, I am willing to pm you the output of phpinfo() of the local and the online webserver...
Some Key information maybe:

local Webserver: Apache/2.2.17 (Ubuntu), PHP Version 5.3.5-1ubuntu7.2
online Webserver: some Apache2 (phpinfo() wont display version), PHP Version 4.4.9-nmm4

Thank you for your help!

No, that would not occur if you upgraded as instructed in the document package.

Meaning you probably had a version of the old Classic theme. There is a newer version available on the Demo link above.

Converting a theme is a very basic editing task - read the documents.
http://documentation.coppermine-gallery.net/en/theme_upgrade_14x-15x.htm#theme_convert_theme
Follow the instructions.

You attached your theme as 'theme', despite its name is/was 'loewenherz'. Rename your theme to 'loewenherz' and try what happens when you force that theme in your browser with the ?theme=lowenherz parameter.

If it worked with local computer it should definitely work in webserver,  you wouldn't have read the instruction properly in the document page otherwise that theme would have worked in the webserver. When you update your gallery definitely you should change the theme, for this you can take assistance of any tutorial.I would advice you to reinstall it and read the manual carefully before installing.
