Image View Count Reset after upgrade

We upgraded our gallery (http://lnx.gerryscorner.it/cpg133/) from 1.4 to the latest version and it appears the image view count for all pictures has been reset to 0.
For example the pictures in this album http://lnx.gerryscorner.it/cpg133/thumbnails.php?album=8 have been in the most viewed section for years now, but now the view count is down to 0...
We do have a backup of the database before the upgrade. Is there a way to get the stats information from that back into the upgraded version?

Restore the backup and run update.php again.
