Hi all,

I am looking for a private photo blog software package. One of the killer features for me in this would be privacy. I.e., only authorized users should be able to view the blog/the pictures, and there should be no copies of the images accessible on public webservers.

Unfortunately, this seems to exclude most of the common packages around, as in most of them either the gallery folders themselves are publicly accessible (to whomever knows the URL), or at least there are cached versions of the images being produced which are, again, accessible by typing ("guessing") the right URL.

So I'm looking for a software which will essentially feed the images via a PHP or such script, or utilize some other smart solution that makes images accessible via the script (after user authorization) but not by directly typing the image URL.

Would Coppermine, with or without some plugins, be able to meet this requirement?

Thank you very much,
Smihers

Not really. The images are still files which could be accessed directly if you know the URL. It may be possible if you setup your server with some specific rules and rights but that would not e something we could advise on.
It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes.

There's a plugin you may be interested in: http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php/topic,74870.0.html

I'm not sure if it currently does exactly what you're looking for.

Excellent stuff Andre, I wasn't aware of that plugin.

Thank you Andre for the suggestion, even if it is probably not precisely what I am looking for.
