There's no more support for cpg 1.4 and suddenly lost the ability to see my admin controls, and have these debugging errors showing. I have no clue how to fix this, and I know for a while I've need to upgrade to the most up to date version of coppermine. I stopped updating my site from 08' to 12' and installer cpg 1.4 in 06'. I have no clue how I even installed it, and never had a clue as to how to upgrade to a higher version and maintain to keep all of the pictures in place. I have little to no programming knowledge so this is quite foreign to me to be perfectly honest.

Thinking is the hardest work there is, which is probably the reason why so few engage in it. - Henry Ford

Ok well I'm backing up the database right now from what I've read. I can't get into my config controls for some reason even when I login to my coppermine gallery. How do I have so I see my admin controls again?

wwedivas

I don't know why but since backing up my database it's taking forever to connect to the url of my gallery, and any corresponding pages.

1 - Please post a link to your Coppermine gallery.

2 - Try using a default theme like Curve (x x x . com/index.php?theme=curve), then update your custom theme as instructed in the document package.

3 - Double check to make certain you followed all of  the upgrading steps.

You need to upload all of the cpg 1.5.22 files to your server. This has not been completely done yet.
Make certain the old files are replaced with the new ones.

The site will remain broken until you do that and the other mandatory steps for performing an upgrade.

wwedivas

Before I upload the contents of the latest coppermine release, I need to get into my admin controls so I can turn the plugins off. I can't see my admin controls to do so

wwedivas

I decided to take a chance and assume the plugins have been turned off. I replaced the files, but I can't get the updater to process. Everytime I enter my username and pass it will time out, and not go through the updating process.

wwedivas

Ok it didn't time out, but then it said 'The following errors were encountered and need to be corrected first:
Could not authenticate you' I tried mysql data, and I tried my admin data and neither are working. I changed the password for my username for the database, and now when I go to http://wwedivaspictures.com/pics/update.php it says Coppermine critical error:
Unable to connect to database !

Check your MySQL credentials in include/config.inc.php.

Thanks Andre. I had recently changed the password for the mysql user, and the old password was still in the file. So I have my gallery back up, but I still can't run update.php because I keep getting the 504 Gateway Time-out error. Also, for some reason there is contextual advertising showing throughout the gallery that is not mine coming from a coupon campanion plugin. Plugins are disabled so I'm not sure why this is happening.

Ok I read the stuff on the page, but it doesn't solve my problem. What should I do?

Please ask your hosting provider for support regarding the 504 error.
