I made a new album (kategory: no kategory).

Now, I want to set a password for this album.
The checkbox "Password protect this album" has been enabled.
I can write a new password in the appropriate field.
But when I click on "update album", I can't find the permission dropdown field "Album can be viewed by" anywhere.
Coppermine brings no error message.
When I log off (administrator) an click on the mentioned album, no password is requested. You can access the album and view all pictures.

Did I forget something or did I configure my coppermine wrong?

You can either restrict access to an album by password or by user group. If you choose to set a password, the "Album can be viewed by" drop-down box automatically changes to "Me only".

Please post a link to your gallery and the password protected album, so we can check ourselves. Maybe it's just a caching issue on your side.

Mate Matic

Hm, there's no "Album can be viewed by" drop-down box.

Here's the link to my gallery:

The right album "Fotos" should be password protected for all users. I've set "12345" as password.

Behavior just as mac ox x theme.
No "Album can be viewed by" drop-down box visible.

Strange, as that's a default field which is always visible (see attached screenshot). Have you applied any modification or installed plugins? If so, try if it works as expected if you disable them. If not, try to re-upload all Coppermine files (like you'd perform a regular upgrade), maybe one or more files got corrupted during upload.

Mate Matic

I haven't installed any plugins. I merely use ImageMagick instead of GD to resize big images.
So, I now have reinstalled coppermine like I did as I updated to the newest coppermine version.
But the password is still not requested.
And there's still no "Album can be viewed by" drop-down box visible, when I set the password.

Link to my coppermine (the password protected album should be "Flyer"):

Really strange.

From the docs:
Quote from: http://documentation.coppermine-gallery.net/en/albums.htm#album_prop_controls_album_can_be_viewed_byIf you have set the config option "Albums can be private" to NO (not recommended), you won't be able to specify access permissions, i.e. all albums will be public and the "Album can be viewed by" will not even be displayed.

Please try to set the above mentioned setting to "YES" and try again. Maybe a candidate for the "known issues" page.

André, thank for this hint.
Now, my album settings look correct as you can see attached.
But unfortunately the password protected albums won't be displayed in the album lost anymore:
Only the album "Bilderlexikon der Flugzeuge" can be found on my site:

Good things come to those who wait. ;D
This check mark finally solved the problem (see attachment).
Now all album - also those with password - are shown in my album list.

Thank you very much for your help and patience.
