SQL is a type of database system. There are a number ot variations on it from different companies, MySQL, MariaDB, MSSQL etc. Coppermine can use any ot these to store information about users, images and more in tables. One of these packages needs to be installed by your host for Coppermine or any other package that uses a database to work. So in your case it is probably best to speak to your hosting provider for help.
It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes.
