Most Recent Gallery Uploads on my PHPBB Forum's main page?

The ultimate would be if I could put a series of thumbnails of most recent uploads on my forum's main page.  I've looked through all the forums here but I simply don't see anyone addressing this possibility.

I have the most recent coppermine and PHPBB 2.0.4.  Is this possible?  Has anyone done this?  And can anyone tell me how to make this ultimate integration?

Yes, there are a couple of ways to do this.

Look in the stickies in the mods section, for 'rss feeds' and 'random image include'.

I'm back and just as confused as I ever was.  I'd have posted in the Mods forum except I apparently don't have the permission to do so.

Do I really need something as complicated as is being talked about?  Two php scripts working off the same database -- I can't just put a little php coding into my forum's index.php and voila, have some thumbnails show up?

Otherwise, I don't see how this RSS or SSI will work for me as I can't rename my index.php files to index.xml or index.shtml.

I appreciate any more help you're willing to give me.

Why don't you check out my site and see what I have on my start page.  Is that what you're looking for?

I use SMF, but the code is basically the same.  The only things you should have to change is the database connection code to whatever phpBB uses.  If you want the code, it's on my site.  Look in my gallery, under SMF downloads.

However, I don't want thumbnails on my start page -- instead, I want them on my forum's main page.  I have PHPBB, and I'd like the forum's main page to list my forums, then show below them a series of say 6 of the most recent uploads to the gallery.  I consider this the ultimate "BBS integration" between the forum and gallery as it'd not just be a link between the two programs but actually pull gallery images into the forum, enticing (hopefully) some to click on the thumbnails and go to the gallery.

Has no one integrated PHPBB with Coppermine by putting the latest uploads (or other) thumbnails in their main forum page?

Really would love to get some help on this one.  I think if this can be accomplished, this combo would be a real boon for my site and others (because what other forum offers such?).
