Hi,

I don't know where to ask this, but can I had my own avatar on this forum. I see that I can use pre-defined pictures, but I would like to have my own like a lot of some members here.

Thank for any hints.

PS: My picture is in attachment.

click on "Profile" in the forum navigation at the top
click on "Forum profile information" at the left
click "I have my own pic" and enter the url that points to your pic (that has to be stored on your webspace)

The forum software we use (SMF) also has the option to let users upload a pic to our webserver, but I disabled this option to avoid webspace issues on our server. After all, having an avatar is not a very pressing thing imo, so if you don't have webspace your custom avatar could go to, just live without avatar.

"I have my own pic" is missing in my Profile Information.   ???
Do not send me a private message unless I ask for one.  Make your post public so everyone can benefit.

There are no stupid questions

Same here, as I can see this feature must be also disable.

Thanks anyways.

OK, you're right - appears to be a bug, or misconfig. I'll investigate further, but after all this feature is not so important imo.

was a misconfig - this can be set using the permissions. I added permissions for all groups ranking "Coppermine regular" and higher. This means ungrouped members (zero posts) and "Coppermine newbies" (up to 5 posts) can't use an external avatar, all others can.

Thanks for looking into the situation, GauGau.

This option is still not available.  Like you said, not a big deal, but just to let you know.

I had to reset permissions some time ago - this is when the power to add external avatars got lost. Should be fixed now. Sorry for the fuzz.

will

I have the same problem, is it because my karma is -3 or just a mis-config ???
