Sometimes at busy times i get the error

"Coppermine Critical Error

mysql: said too many connections"

My provider "claims" there is no mysql limit on the server. Does coppermine have a certain limit to the amount of connections?

Thanks
Gareth

afaik there's no limit for mySQL connections on coppermine - maybe your webhost isn't actually lying, but doesn't know either (I would if I were in his place  ).
Please post a link to your site and some estimated average traffic...

There's too much stuff on your start page. Try reducing the detail level of your start page - there are way too many queries necessary to generate that page!

Are there any specific queries i should reduce/remove, which use up the most resources?

Hi,
you have 9 categories, each showing 8 album thumbs, as well as last up (8), random (4), last additions(8) and top rated (4).

I would start by reducing each category, and each meta album, to 4.
It has been a long time now since I did my little bit here, and have done no coding or any other such stuff since. I'm back to being a noob here

Then why on earth did you reply to a thread that referes to an old version of coppermine for which the support has run out. Review board rules and do as suggested there. Locking.
