cmd

I created a directory under albums called mypics and I put pics in there and I go to the batchadd button and nothing is displayed:

There is no picker buttons just the followig test:

This function allows you to add a batch of file that your have uploaded to your server by FTP.

Select the directory where you have uploaded your files

Thx

Joachim Müller

post a link to your site please. Make sure the permissions are set properly.

Joachim

cmd

I dont have this publicly available.
I created the following folder:

/var/www/htdocs/cpg132/albums/upload

The permissions are set to 666

The folder contains 20 or so jpg's

So when I go to the Batch Upload Button there is nothing there but the following text:
_______________________________________________________________________________
Select directory
This function allows you to add a batch of file that your have uploaded to your server by FTP.

Select the directory where you have uploaded your files

re-consider this CHMOD setting (666): you (in fact: the webserver) needs read/write access to the albums folder and everything within it, as suggested in the docs. What server OS and server software/version are you using?

I am having the same issue, and my permissions are fine... it worked fine with prior version of coppermine (1.2)

Any ideas?

jarekn

I replaced the searchnew.php with the one from version 1.2 and the list of directories showed up... so it probably has to do something with the new file...

PS my coppermine is integrated with vBulletin 3.0.3 but I don't think this has anything to do with it...

jarekn

In the old version the system would look inside the albums/userpics folder... now it looks inside albums folder.... that's all there is to it...

So what exactly was the problem? You had said that you didn't put the files in userpics.

Joachim Müller

you're simply not meant to ftp-upload to the userpics directory. You never were, in no coppermine version ever. In cpg1.3.x, we're just forcing this by not displaying the userpics folder in batch-add. Replacing files from cpg1.3.x with ones from an older package is not recommended, might lead to "funny" results later. This is all being covered in the docs, please read before posting.

@all who cursory read this thread: do not use the above mentioned workaround - do not use the searchnew.php file from cpg1.2.x with cpg1.3.x - there are valid reasons for hiding the userpics folder, you're not meant to upload to it when ftp-uploading!
