I've installed the .reg file previously and it has worked flawlessley with windows xp. However, I'd formatted my computer, re-downloaded the new .reg file from my server and now it doesn't even show up on the web publishing list (only msn group shows up). In the mean time, my domain name (transfer of registrar) was being changed.

At the point of last successful installl, the domain name (owned by another company) was pointing to my new web server. Now, the new server is the registar of that domain.

Does this mean I've to re-install the script? Iis there a way I can get web publishing wizard working back again ???

Please help  :(

Thanks a lot...

can't tell for sure (I don't have Windows XP), but you could start by posting a link and test user account (non-admin) with upload privileges, so others could test your reg file. My guess is you will have to take a look into your registry, delete the branch the old wizard has created and import the reg file again (be extra carefull when fiddling with the registry, always beckup before deleting anything).

Can you tell me which branch in the registry should I delete?

Than-x for your prompt reply, I was out of town...

like I said: I don't have Windows XP, so I can't tell you. Maybe someone else who is running XP can.

OK,
this is what you do.

First, do a backup.

Open windows registry editor, regedit.exe

Using the file browser, go to 'HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Explorer/PublishingWizard/PublishingWizard/Providers'

You will see a folder for each website you have registered.

Simply delete the one for your website, then use a new reg file from your site.
It has been a long time now since I did my little bit here, and have done no coding or any other such stuff since. I'm back to being a noob here

Sorry about that, too sleepy....

Casper,
I finally browsed to that location. However, I see the Provider as just msn and no other folder is created under that root. I'm guessing its now showing up. I've ran .reg file again and it reports being added to the registry successfully, however I don't see in the location that you have mentioned.....What other problem can anyone think of ??

Thanks..you guys are great.

In that case I cant help you much, other than to suggest you do a search within the registry editor.

Open registry editor, click edit/find.

Search for 'xp_publish.php?cmd=publish'.  This may take a little time, but if a coppermine registry exists, it will find it.  You should see a screen like the pic below.  The search has found the first instance of this, and if you look at the bottom of the left panel, the open folder is my coppermine reg folder.
