Change owner

I have recently changed gallery to coppermine and I really like this gallery. I also had a lot of pictures from the old gallery that I batch uploaded into an archive category. Now I want to change the ownership on these files on requests from the users, because I dont know who owns what. I tried move one picture from the archive section into another users published album, but then I got the "DP" error (DP : means that the file is a duplicate and is already in the database) How can I change the owner of these files if this wont work ?

You can only do this by manually altering the owner_id and owner_name fields in the pictures table in your coppermine db.
