I've got user's that are used to Menalto's Gallery, where I setup the categories, and it allowed them to create an album and upload the pic's.  I've been through quite a few pages on these forums, and have found that it's not possible to do that.  So, is it possible for an admin (or perhaps a certain group) to move an album that a user creates in their user album, to a general category?

For example, a user creates an album titled "Doom3 Screenshots" in their user cateogry, then an admin/group will take that album, and move it to a general album called just "Screenshots".

This would allow for a central place to search for screenshots, rather than having to search through each user's albums.

You can of course move the pics themselves.

To move the album, the only way is to edit your database, and change the album category there.  Note that if you do this, the album will then have normal permissions, and you will then be the 'owner'.
It has been a long time now since I did my little bit here, and have done no coding or any other such stuff since. I'm back to being a noob here

So, there's no way to move entire albums, and there's no way for a user to create an album under a general category?  Hmmm.. maybe this isn't the right software for our site.   ???

Coppermine is designed to allow users to have their own personal albums that they control.  Public albums, created by the admin, can be set to allow users to upload into them.

So, your users can upload images to their own albums and any public albums you allow them to upload into.

But, it doesn't allow them to create public albums.  I'd hate to have to create a new album for every event.. but I guess it's doable.  I like the function in Menalto's Gallery, where I could set the permission on the Category, to allow the users to create an album and upload their pic's to that album.  However, when we upgraded to Invision Power Board v2, we lost the ability to run Menalto with it.
