Just followed the tutorial to install the coppermine gallery.  I have adjusted the albumns and include folders to read/write or 777 or 775 as told to do.  Everything transferred over to my webspace.

Problem is, the next step - i ran the http://myserver/coppermine/install.php and all i come up with is 403 - forbidden.  Am I missing something here?

My webspace is via Geocities, but it's not a free account, and I went there for help and they talk about setting up my database, but I can't seem to do that either.

Do you have a database? That is required to run coppermine.

Have you read the many posts on the forums about 403 errors (and 403 explanations available via Google) yet?

This is a server configuration issue, and not a Coppermine problem.  If you upload a simple html file to your website, you will most likely also receive a 403 error when trying to access it.

I don't think the database (or lack of one) is the problem, especially since lauravision can't seem to set one up.  Contact your webhost and explain that you're receiving the 403 error and you are unable to create a MySQL database.
Do not send me a private message unless I ask for one.  Make your post public so everyone can benefit.
