It sure would be extremely helpful if we users were allowed to select a folder of images to be placed into CM rather than selecting photos one photo at a time.

Are you not using batch upload? Please read the documentation.

Of course I tried batch add but as stated in another post, it didn't work.  I posted this as I thought that batch add might be related to some other aspect than a folder of images.  You know, it's not really helpful for newcomers to cop out by stating to read the documentation.  I *did* read what I had available.  You could be more helpful by stating which document to read, where I can obtain it, perhaps the relevent section to read.  You know, hold my hand, spoon feed me until I'm better versed in this stuff.

I don't think it's any sort of "cop out" to ask a new user to read the documentation that's included with Coppermine before posting a question.  The Coppermine distro has a readme file in the root directory that tells you where the documentation is located, and the documentation is very well written, imho.  There are also links at the top of each page of this forum that says Documentation, as well as a FAQ that answers the most asked questions.
Do not send me a private message unless I ask for one.  Make your post public so everyone can benefit.

There are no stupid questions
But there are a LOT of inquisitive idiots

I was simply stating that perhaps the location of the docs could have been mentioned.

And after having been given direction on locating the docs, I am sincerely grateful for the help.  As noted in a previous post, the blue bar at the top (for that is how it looks to me since the text/backgroun are low contrast and the font is very tiny) looked just like a blue bar until I put on magnifier glasses and it resolved itself into a true menu bar with menu selections.  That's not your fault but that's what I experience.

WRT the readme file, if it came with the distro, I didn't see it.  Perhaps it was accidentally trashed by some housekeeping action.

I do appreciate the secondary responses that pointed me to the documentation, which is indeed very well written.  Thanks again.

And that's exactly why you should not cross post. How was I to know you used batch upload from another post? So shame on you. >:(

Erm.. :) dunno but the folder named DOCS is pretty obvious to most.

<harumph!> OK, I've been bad, I'm coming to my senses.   ;D
Sorry for the jerk attitude earlier.  Just the voice of frustration :-\\
