I just installed this gallery, and I recently came from 4images...why? Their support is like absolutely nill...let's hope this is better  ;D

So I managed to do everything, install, configure, etc. So I upload some files into a folder I make in /albums called "Events". All the images I;m uploading are in .jpg format. So I upload, and only two of them work! When I click on the broken image link, like it says to do, it says "When using the GD image library allowed image types are only JPEG and PNG."...but the thing is, they are all .jpg files! Why is this? How can I fix this?

EDIT: hmm...tried it with some new files, and its working.......

It's possible the images were not in the standard rgb format.  GD often cannot manage pics saved in cmyk or other types.
It has been a long time now since I did my little bit here, and have done no coding or any other such stuff since. I'm back to being a noob here
