SMF/CPG Bridged: Group Permissions

I'd like to have specific Categories/Albums visible only to certain Membergroups (or, alternatively, hidden to all guests & ungrouped members), as you can easily do with Boards within SMF.

I see some topics here roughly along those lines, but the options I think I'd need to change (in the Album/Properties screen) don't appear for me.  I guess that's because of changes made to "bridge" CPG with SMF, but can anybody confirm that?   ...or tell me what I'm doing wrong (as old age is creeping-in!)
