I uploaded a test image without any problems.

uploads work as expected on your gallery - see http://vbeshop.web.aplus.net/vbritney/photos/displayimage.php?pos=-139
Test with a known-good, small file (both in dimensions and filesize). You probably exceeded your max allowed size.

hony

Yes, I just tried to upload a couple of small pix and the upload was successful.
It just did not work with the other one, which is 1.50mb and size is 2704x2416.

I change my config and it's working now. Thank you.

hony

No, actually, it got me to the preview page and then a blank screen again.

This is the link to the pix I was trying to upload: http://vbeshop.web.aplus.net/vbritney/UPN%20Promo%2002.jpg

What would be the config for "Max size for uploaded files (KB)" and "Max width or height for uploaded pictures/videos (pixels)" to work in this case? Sorry about the doulbe message.

Joachim Müller

hony

The problem is I did try a huge value for those 2 max kb, and max size but it doesn't work, and there's no error message.
I read the thread you above but couldn't find the answer. :-\\

Joachim Müller

you can't just make up max values in coppermine's config if your server is not configured to accomplish this - that's what the sticky thread that I posted says: those settings apply to your webserver's configuration file (named php.ini), you usually can't change it when webhosted. Setting up large max values in coppermine's config is just whishfull thinking.

urban lover

Today I tried to upload more files.
I changed the www.karl-images.com/coppermine/ to www.karl-images.com. I switched the url's on my control panel.
I then went and uploaded folders with ftp.
When I click on batch upload files I get a thumbnail db. It also has a red x with it.
I set up a tester

I am so confused now that I don't know what to do. I have read the FAQ's Document and even contacted my web host. They don't know what's wrong either.

This is the error message I get:

Warning: mkdir(albums/userpics/10005): Permission denied in /hsphere/local/home/urbanlov/karl-images.com/db_input.php on line 228

When you moved your files, did you make sure your /albums directory (and all subdirectories in it) permissions were still 777?

I went in and changed them 777 but I am still getting the tumbnail as an x with no listing of the pictures.

urban lover

I changed all the codes to 777. when I went back and redid it it still doesn't work.
I still get the little thumbnail db. with an x. Is there a way for me to erase the uploads and start them over?

kegobeer

I still get the same error - permission denied.  PM me your FTP login information (address, username, password) and I will look at your directory structure.

[edit]Never post FTP login publically - I asked for a PM.  You should change your FTP login information immediately and then send me a Private Message with the new info.[/edit]

Your permissions for the albums directory were not set correctly.  I set them to 777 for you.  I successfully uploaded a test image.

Have you read this thread and tried all of the recommendations?  Have you searched the forums yet?

I get this error message:

The file 'albums/userpics/10001/bn01.jpg' can't be inserted in the album

Error executing ImageMagick - Return value: 127

Cmd line :
/usr/bin/convert -quality 80 -antialias -geometry 73x100 'albums/userpics/10001/bn01.jpg' 'albums/userpics/10001/thumb_bn01.jpg'

The convert program said:
sh: line 1: /usr/bin/convert: No such file or directory

Joachim Müller

Then you have specified the wrong path to ImageMagick, or you haven't set sufficient permissions on the ImageMagick executables (only applies when self-hosted). Try using GD instead. The issues you have are not related to the ones discussed in this thread, so don't hijack this thread. A search would have told you that this error message is quite common and has been answered before many times already.
My guess is that uploads never have worked for you before, you probably set up coppermine just now - replying to this thread is not a good idea, as it deals with issues users have who had the upload work before, which is different to your issues.
