It should be the way to count the total number of files for the top categories if there more sub-categories/sub-sub-categories with albums & pictures inside of them.

EVENT (main category displayes stats:  2 albums, 16 files)
    - BBall (a subcategory contains 2 albums and 32 files)
+ BBall Album1 (an album with 12 files)
+ BBall Album2 (an album with 20 files)
- Hunting1 (an album with 12 files)
- Hunting2 (an album with 4 files)

Now:                                  Category EVENT stats :  2 albums, 16 files
This feature should display:    Category EVENT stats:   4 Albums, 48 files

There must be the way to count & display these stats fast and without any delays in CPG loading speed.

This issue was touched in http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?topic=10612.0

I hope CPG 1.4 will have this feature...

Thanks,

I really hate it when people edit things to make me look bad when their posts were poorly written in the first place. Anyway, there are several meanings for top... top ranked, top placement vertically. Now that you have used more words, it seems like you actually are meaning parent category. :P

what you're requesting would mean additional queries, thus slowing the index page down just for statistics purposes - I don't think the majority of users will find this helpfull. However, if you need full-blown stats, search the board - as far as I can remember, someone posted a hack/workaround.
Flagging this thread as "turned down". Not a good idea to try to make supporters look bad by modifying a posting like you did after a reply has been posted, won't win you friends...
