Hide categories for anonymous User

How can i hide categories for anonymous user.

I've tried a lot but nothing works

only albums can be hidden, categories can't.

I only get a Thumbnail with the word Private

Not sure if this is where this post belongs, but it is relevant to the thread.  I want to require users to login to see anything, including the Categories list.  I submit this as a feature request/enhancement.  The goal is to have a gallery for members-only, and this not be just limited to albums but to include categories as well.  Thanks.
