Sorry if this has been answered somewhere, but I couldn't find it.  When I upload an image, everything goes fine until I get to the point where I see the preview image and I can then add a title or description to the pic.  When I click on "continue", I get this error message......

Destination directory albums/userpics/10016/ is not writable by the script

I have no idea what that is.  The admins of the site I'm at, tell me it's a browser related problem.  Any ideas?

I also get this error message when I try to delete any of the pictures I uploaded weeks ago....yes, it was working for me just weeks ago...........

Directory 'albums/userpics/10016/' is not writable, files can't be deleted

Do not send me a private message unless I ask for one.  Make your post public so everyone can benefit.

There are no stupid questions
But there are a LOT of inquisitive idiots

Hmmm.  Well, I don't know anything about CHMOD or permissions or 777 or anything like that.  I'm simply a visitor to a message board and they have a picture gallery we can all use.  Apparently, I'm the only user who cannot upload pictures.  And that's odd, because I upoaded several pics when I first joined.  The admins are pretty much convinced the problem is on my end, probably with my browser.  IE 6 on WINXP SP2.  Could it be a security setting on my machine?

Try using xp publish.

Add the filename xp_publish.php to the gallery's URL.

Well, I took a look at all of that.  That's a lot to go through to simply add a picture.  I don't even think my XP has publish, it certainly isn't an option when I click on a photo.   It really shouldn't be this difficult to add a stinkin picture.  I've uploaded photos for YEARS without this kind of problem.  Think they might want to simplifiy things on the coppermine end.  Unless there's a simple solution, guess I'm out of luck.  Wish my admins would switch to a different/better alternative.

But thanks for the effort.

Well, if it worked before and now it doesn't, it's not like coppermine all of a sudden mutated and no longer works. It's something with your system setup or the gallery admin's permissions. But they're saying it's only happening to you, so process of elimination...
