I see in the FAQ that it's not possible to buy a license.  But is it possible to give some sort of donation or gift for your time?  Do you have a "tip jar" paypal account or something?  Is there something set up that I didn't notice?  I appreciate all the work that you all have put into this.

thanks for the thought - it's being appreciated.

I suggest you support
a) local charity
or
b) sourceforge.net (they accept paypal donations)

We (the coppermine dev team) haven't made up our mind on this (yet), maybe the other dev guys could voice their opinion on this...

Though not for personal use - I would like to have some money for advertising Coppermine on Hotscripts and Google.

Not that it needs any BUT would be nice to see an ad for something offered free    8)

If we were on the same continent, then maybe I could buy a round of beers instead.   As it is, something a little more virtual has to do.

I'll check back in a couple of days... if you decide that you want it and provide information on how to get it to you, then I will leave a gift.  Otherwise, I'll donate to a local charity.

I could personally use some extra cash for my upcoming holiday trip.. *grin* just kidding. I like the idea of charity donations (I'm quite active in that IRL), otherwise paypal fund would have to be hosted offsite - sf.net does not allow it AFAIK.

I would prefer donations to charity.  Once you start accepting cash for operations, you become a business (albeit non-profit), and you must deal with all paperwork and accountability that entails.

Yes currently donations to charity are the way to go...

Ultimately we will have to accept money in retrun of services OR someone else will do it < shrug >

Hmm charity is good idea but what's much better (i think):

- Create paypal account
- Only accept donations
- Let us/donators choose to which charity
- Pay the charities once a year and post the result sticky like:

We recieved a total of $ 134 this year and gave it to:
Charity              Ammount $
------------------------------
Moorey's holiday      1.00
Homeless Pets        50.00
Greenpeace           23.00
WWF                  60.00
There are 2 kinds of users in this world: satisfied and complainers.
Why do we never hear something from the satisfied users?
