Parse Error in Categories Section

hi guys,

i have migrated my gallery to a new server. and have been going thru the new gallery testing if everything is in order. everything seems fine except for two things:

1) i get an error "Parse error: parse error, unexpected $ in /home2/sub004/sc11465-LEOH/www/catmgr.php on line 20" when i click on "Categories" button when in the Admin mode.

2) the user activation link sent out in the email seems to have a "/" missing as it will be something like:

"http://www.myurl.comregister.php?activate=221301b531c81ddca30d77c878c43721"

there shd be a '/' in there right? the how do i rectify that? i have specified "myurl.com/" under the " Target address for the 'See more pictures' link in e-cards" field.

i've also tried running 'update.php'. it did certain things like create tables which were missing but it didn't solve the problems above.

any advice?

Reupload the catmgr.php, and double check that you have a slash at the end of the ecard address in config.
