Apparently a trusted friend of mine whom I made an admin on my board, fixed it so I could not have admin access anymore. Well, I was able to FTP and lock this friend out months ago by changing the names of some of the files, but I still can not get admin access. I have searched to see what file the program writes the password to in hopes that I could change it or re-issue myself admin privledges, but to no avail. Is there anyone who can help me with this. Only then can I change the base URL so that my photo album will be back online properly.

Thanks,
Mirlin

We don't do email support, but only on this board.
FTP access is all that is needed if the other person has been modifying any files. Simply re-upload coppermine's core files and you should be fine. If he used the coppermine user interface to either make your user account from admin level to user level or he deleted your account entirely, then you'll have to create of modify an admin account directly on your database. To access your database, you'll need a tool like phpMyAdmin (which can be installed using your FTP access in case you don't already have it or a similar tool like cpanel). Edit coppermine's user table. The user_group determines your permissions: member group "1" means "admin".

I'm sorry to hear that, Mirlin. You should be good to go once you edit the database entry.

Hopefully, this can serve as an example to people not to give admin access to those who might have a falling out. I've seen devastating reports of ex's destroying entire sites.
