**edit** i didnt relalize there was an '1.3 uploadproblems  folder'..maybe one of the mods could move it there.. sorry!

I did my search, found a few articles, but no answers..

when i go to upload a file with a .gif extension, it won't upload.   i get this message:
0 uploads were successful.
File Name/URL Error Message
1. xx.gif Not a GD extension.

now when i go to my admin panel, it says all image files types will be accepted. what am i doing wrong? whats a GD extension and how do i fix it?

Have you read the documentation?

Have you searched for "gif upload" or "gif support"?  And scanned thru all of the results?

Have you looked here?

GD prior to 2.0.28 did not have GIF create support.  You can go to http://www.boutell.com/gd to read all about it.  In order to use GIF, you have to use ImageMagick or apply my GIF support mod.
