It's great that the gallery can handle more then just images, but it can't get any type of screen shot to use as a thumbnail for those other files, so it uses those simple images, and I was thinking that for files like that, it would allow you to also upload a "sample" image if you want, and that would take place of the default image for the thumbnail.

Just something I was thinking of as I'm trying to get this site up which probaly will have lots of flash subbmisions. I mean, just a plain "flash file" image does not tell you much about it. But if the uploader could also upload an image thats like a screen-shot from the flash or something like that, that would make it alot better for these kinds of files.

I don't think there's any php plugin that can grab frames from flash.  I can grab frames from various movie formats (mpeg, wmv 7, quicktime, etc) with ffmpeg, but I can't get ffmpeg to read the stat data from any flash file.  In my quest to make this work, I've read ffmpeg can write flash files but not read them.

Doesn't look like this will happen any time soon.
