Are you allowed to use 1.2 themes on a 1.3 version? Last time I did this, I had a error but I don't know if it had to do with the version. It was just a broken file possibly?

You could but you would need to follow instructions to manually upgrade the theme to 1.3

nearly all 1.2 themes are available for 1.3 as well. What theme are you refering to?
