Sorry, I can't post in the 1.4 forum... Please note : I'm NOT looking for support. These are just things I've seen on the 1.4.1 Beta.

Well, I backed up my 1.3.3 files and database and have now installed 1.4.1 beta following the "update" instructions in the /docs folder.

The home page appears fine, except for the flags which appear almost all doubled (this I understand is an already identified bug ?). I can login with my admin user but when I click on the "config" button, I go to the config page, but only see 7 gallery settings options and one language settings option. Nothing else. There is an error message just above the list of settings :

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: db_query() in /var/www/free.fr/2/7/marksparham/cpg132/config.php on line 227

I had a check by searching for db_query in the forums, but didn't find anything specifically similar. If you need more details, I'll be willing to provide them.

versioncheck.php is fine, there's just install.php which is missing. Everthing else is green or n.a.
phpinfo.php shows php v 4.3.1.0

OK I just saw

http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?topic=19483.0

which should help me. ....

OK, so I did a clean install instead of an "overwrite" install (except for my album directory). Things are looking cleaner now and the admin menu is all there...

There's just one problem - all my text with accents has gone haywire e.g. é has become ? I will check this out now...

toujours

OK so instead of choosing the Unicode character encoding option, I chose the default option. This corrects existing text, but it's not the "recommended" option...

OK (again) I found this thread :

http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?topic=13161.0

which talks about running charsetmgr.php. But its turns out I don't have iconv on my webhoster server, so I can run the script...

By the way, I'm finding that this board is slow tonight...

OK. I posted a question in the 1.4 section - I though tI wasn't allowed to do that !

I think I can say this post can be closed...
