Hello,

This is not a complaint or a query, I just wanted to say this forum is incredibly useful and one of the best I've seen, given this is not a paid-for programme, so well done and thank you coppermine wizards.

My own experience so far, I would recommend new un-techie users to develop a strong relationship with their web hosts. Without them you cannot proceed (I've notice a few posts about this). Be patient. As it's the weekend, I need to get a proper path to Image Magik, for example, and know I can't proceed without it. I've also noticed that when ftping you need to copy the contents of the programme folders separately, not justs the folder themselves, to ensure that you have uploaded all the files correctly.

Well, nothing else really but I'm sure the fun and games will start when I manage to get the site going and am sure this forum will be of great help.

Regards

Have you checked out your webhost's FAQ for the path?

I used to be with a webhost that had no cpanel so any such changes had to be requested via email to one person. So I couldn't do simple things myself and I was at the mercy of one person's schedule. I switched to a host that has a cpanel and 24/7 support.

Hello, do you mean '/usr/bin/X11/' ?

I did try this at the beginning, but that was before I got the database name right. So now maybe that will work.

I already have paid for lots of webspace with my current host so I'm using and old website's space, which saves money. I might move later.

thanks

In my case it was /usr/bin/. I may vary according to the webhoster but it is worth a try. Also, my technical support seemed to be more responsive late at night about 9:00. I don't know if this was due to shifts or that the load went down. At any rate, its worth a try.  ;)
