Can Not Upload Picture Files

Hi

I need some help with Coppermine. I installed it via Fantastico which came with my webspace provider, Nethosted. I'm unable to upload any files. So far I've uploaded the pictures via FTP to my webspace. I've CHMOD'ed the Albums folder to 777 and the folder within Albums where I have uploaded the pictures to 777 as well.

I've created one category and an album inside it. I get as far as being able to tick which pictures I want to upload and then click Insert Selected Files. But after i do that it says "Please be patient, the script needs time to add the files". No matter how long I wait nothing happens. How long should I be waiting?

I've tried uploading many files at one, and I've tried to upload only one as well. Neither attempt works.

I've included the debug text that I've been asked to below. Hopefully someone can have a look  and advise me what to do next.

I'm pretty new to this. It's the first time I've tried using Coppermine and tried running a PHP bulleting board as well.

Just one more reason why Fantastico sucks.  "Please be patient?"  That's not in our version.

I recommend completely removing the Fantastico/Coppermine files and remove the tables from your MySQL database.  Download 1.3.4 from our site, extract it to your computer, read the documentation, then upload the files and perform the installation yourself.

Hum, Are you sure of that ? I've a standalone 1.3.3 version downloaded from sf.net which says exactly that (little notice, not message box) when batch-adding pictures by the "=>FTP" button.

It doesn't mean Fantastico isn't the problem in that case, just that I think this notice is part of official CPG version.

My wife who's French says that "Batch" is commonly used in France.  So "Batch +", "Batch Adj+"  or "Batch =>" should be fine.       -- She said it, not me ;-)

It's the same dilema in German as well, that's why I used the same workaround as suggested by Dennis' wife: I left the English phrase "Batch" and applied the German word for "add" - that's what went into the German translation since cpg1.2.0, so far nobody from the German user community has complained so far. After all, the batch-add feature will be only available for coppermine admins, who are potentially more computer-literate than "regular" users, so I guess we should do as suggested above.

@french community: please confirm or post your alternatives.
