Trouble with uploading new pictures by FTP using "add batch"

Hello!
I tried to upload some new pictures by FTP using the "add batch" function! It always functioned, until now!? I just checked and changed the CHMOD but it didn´t help! I got these Error-Messages:

an internal server error is just what the name says; ask your webhost what went wrong.

Thank you GauGau so far!
But now I realized that the real problem is another one:
If I upload pictures in the size of 800x600 Pixel everything is alright! But if I try to upload larger pictures I get the problems that are mentioned above!   
I just checked the settings, there is maximum size 2048 installed!?

Then your server cannot or will not process larger images. You will need to take it up with your host.

It realy seams to be a Server Problem! I checked the Server Support Forum and found some informations about all that! I think the problem is solved!
