Could not create a mySQL connection

Im trying to install coppermine and Im running into the following error...  Im sure my login and host info is correct:

Could not create a mySQL connection, please check the SQL values entered

MySQL error was : Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (46)



Any help would be greatly appriciated

Have you searched the forum for "Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock'", or have you Googled for "Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock'" yet?
