I forgot my password problem

I tried searching the entire board for this issue, but couldn't find any fixes. My issue is with the "I forgot my password" page or forgot_passwd.php. When I go to this page, I type in a valid email and coppermine would send and email with the following message to my inbox:

"You have requested to a new password. If you would like to proceed with having a new password sent to you, click on the following link: http://www.mydomain.org/gallery/forgot_passwd.php?key=cd9f881f2c05720a424ddfec4c644494&id=19"

by the way, the link is not clickable in the email, but anyway, i copy and paste the address above to a new browser window and it takes me to a page that says "An email with your username and new password was sent to user@email.com". After this, nothing happens. No new email with login info, no nothing. I upgraded from 1.3.5, and with the old version it never sent 2 emails to recover a login. It use to send only one email message containing the username and password in it and it didnt require the user to click on a link or visit a page. It would be nice if it worked like it use to work with 1.3.5.

I disagree - the additional email check was added in cpg1.4.x to make sure that a malevolent users resets passwords of other users at will.
Post a link and non-admin test user account if you want actual support, not some generic dummy url.

The gallery seemed to have been improperly upgraded via Fantastico. I ran the update script. Try again what you were doing earlier. Can't say it fixed the problem but it rules out a cause.

i tried it again. first email came in fine, but second one didnt.  :'(

Fantastico? i've never heard of that before. i followed the instructions on upgrading from 1.3 and everything seemed to update smoothly without any errors. i want to add that i'm using stramm's latest 1.4 mod pack if it matters at all. but the mod pack doesnt replace the original forgot_passwd.php so i don't think thats the problem. but i might be wrong.

could the problem be with my custom theme files? appreciate the help.

I'll look into why that message is considered spam.
