Is there a way to control how many categories are listed per page. Much akin to how you can specify the number Albums and Thumbs per page?

Joachim Müller

no you can't control that - all categories are being displayed no matter what. I recommend creating sub-categories that make sense and stop them from showing (there's a config option to accomplish this). Imo, this is all a matter of clever gallery setup, with the amount of organization that is needed for your page.

spacebass5000

Ok, so I am not certain whether you are saying I can't do what it is I need to. Let me explain a little and see if I am just missing something.

I am utilizing Categories. I have a root category followed by two othesr: "2005 Events" and "2006 Events"

The category "2005 Events" has about 50 categpries below it that I need to present to the user. Thing is, I cannot reduce this number of categories. She wants to see a listing with 10 Categories per page.

Am I just missing something?

Joachim Müller

such a feature doesn't exist. If you need it, you'll have to code it.
Post a link to your page, I'm convinced that there are other options.

spacebass5000

well, once you see how I have the album template constructed, you'll prolly understand... I shall PM you the info to login

Uh oh.  I can see it coming, but somehow I cannot look away.

edit: Oh, I could at least yell out and hope for the best.  spacebass5000: Take a closer look at GauGau's signature line and read this for more details: http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?topic=22469.0.

did i miss something? and dude, ffs, don't link me to a smart questions FAQ...

my question is legit and dude asked me to link him to my site. it is locked down via password, one i do not wish to share here.... hence the PM

edit: omg, you guys gave me negative karma, WHAT AM I TO DO?!!?!?!?!

Joachim Müller

Yes: the word "post" doesn't equal the words "send me a PM".
Additionally, you have removed the "Powered by Coppermine" tag at the bottom, so there's no support for you. Good bye.

spacebass5000

that's cool, i didn't expect you to really help me anyways...

* spacebass5000 shrugs

spacebass5000

now i hope both of you realize that your attitudes will make it such that I most likely wont share my solution with the denizens of this forum. there are others looking for this functionality, shame I won't be sharing it with them... :(

way to be guys

Joachim Müller

what a heartbreaker. Locking this thread.
