Hi.
I've wrongly put all my pictures into the *No category*.

How can I move pictures from a *No category* to a category that I've made myself?
I've been running coppermine for about 2 years now, and it doesn't get any better. Thanks guys :)

Use album properties to move the albums into a different category.

Conceptually, the pictures aren't in categories, but are in albums. So to move the pictures into another category, you need to move the album containing the pictures.

webmok

Where do you find that album properties ?

And how do I move the albums into a category ?   ;)

when logged in as admin (and being in admin mode), the "album properties" button is next to the thumbnail that represents the album. You could hardly miss it imo.

Hi,

Newbie here (altho I hate that term). I am logged in as admin and in admin-mode and when I click Properties next to an album to move it to another category I do not have a pull down menu (as suggested in the manual: http://coppermine.sourceforge.net/manual.php#album_prop).

Instead next to Album category it says: User Gallery. What do I need to do? I'm sure I did it all wrong.  :-[

thanks for reading!

Was the album created by a non-admin user?

The albums were all created by me while logged in as the admin. In addition, the category these albums are in is the default one that was created when Coppermine is first installed (I renamed it though).

I want to move two albums out of the default category into another newly created one. I hope that sheds some light on my issue?

thanks for reading!

It's not a default category, it's a special category just for user albums. You can't move user albums out of the user galleries category.

Ok, so.. um.. basically I have to start all over? It's ok if I have to start all over.  :)

Kinda sucky, but at least now I know. Is there some SQL magic that could move stuff around?

Let's say I don't do SQL but decide to batch import files into new albums in the correct categories, since the images have already been thumbnailed and resized, will they be re-thumbnailed and re-sized again?

Ok, I just confused myself. But I hope someone knows what I'm talking about.

Thanks for reading! Happy Monday (tho work is going to be stressful today for me).

Yeah, if you are comfortable with SQL you can change the category field in the albums table manually.

I learned MySQL in school I believe I can figure it out. I will seek help, though, and back up my database before I rush headlong into sql statements.  ;D

thanks everyone!

With phpmyadmin, you don't have to deal with sql statements. ;)

*slaps forehead* Of course! Silly me, I've fixed it now. Thank you! :D I dunno how to mark my question as solved, but it is!

Thanks to all!
