Hello everyone!

Sorry if this has been posted before. I did a search but I couldn't find anything ^^

I was just wondering if there was a posibility to show a picture count for a main category that has subcategories and albums in those subcategories.
Umm, okay so this might sound a little confusing, basically what I mean is:

I have a gallery, sorted into different categories, for example one of them is "Photo Shootings", and in this category I have different categories (1999 and before, 2000-2003 and 2004-2006) in which the pictures are so it's less confusing for the visitors. Now on the main page I configured the gallery to show only the top categories, so all you can see on the main page is the "Photo Shooting" category, but there is no album count nor picture count next to it as there are no pictures in the actual "Photo Shootings" category. So what I mean is: is there a possibilty to have an album count (all albums in the three subcategories) and a picture count (of all albums on the three categories) on the main index along with the Photo Shootings category?

Whoo. Sorry if this sounded confusing.  :-\ I hope you understand what I mean, haha ^^

Thanks in advance! =)

I think I understood your request and what I understood seemed useful to me, so I modified Donnoman's CPG_OCat plugin to summarize the stats of categories to include all subcategories (or just hidden subcategories depending upon the configuration option).   I posted the plugin with my mod on the development board for CPGOCat; please download it there and give it a whirl.

Here's the original plugin thread from this forum: http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?topic=24684.0

Thank you so much, that's exactly what I wanted!  ;D

I just have one more little (stupid) question...  Now that I installed it I can't seem to order the categories alphabetically anymore. Is there any way to not let the script order the categories, but still use the category order control panel that came with Coppermine originally?

Thanks again for adding that to the plugin. Worked like a charm =)

Paver

I'm confused.  The entire point of Donnoman's plugin is to allow more ordering options for the categories, including alphabetical for the category names.  Have you clicked on the "category" title?

Oh, sorry. What I meant was is there a possibilty to set the default ordering option to whatever I choose? It does of course sort everything the way I want if I click on category (or files, or...) but I'd like it to be ordered alphabetically by default, for when you first view the whole gallery.
I kind of forgot to say I meant the default settings (: Sorry about that.

Same result. It doesn't work. I tried with internet explorer and firefox.

Ah, ok. I thought you were referring to the site, not the link to download the plugin.

Download link doesn't work for me neither, so I can confirm your issue. Needs to be discussed at cpg-contrib though, not on this site.

I just posted my mod on the CPGOcat plugin thread (on this forum) as a "mirror".  If an admin prefers it to only be on the CPG-Contrib board, feel free to remove it.  Please discuss this mod and the plugin *only* on the CPG-Contrib board; it keeps things organized and in one place.
