Translating album/category/gallery names, is it possible?

so that the english visitors could see the name of an album in english, germans - in german, etc.

not with a out of the box coppermine. But I think there was a mod (not sure though)

has been suggested quite often, but having coppermine actually multilingual would be overkill. The mod Stramm refers to is sort-of a workaround that adds limited multi language capabilities.
I suggest renaming your album and stuff accordingly, e.g. "Holiday/Urlaub/Vacaciones" - you get the idea...
