I want to change the coppermine logo and yes I have tried to follow the instructions and looked up advice on the forum, all of which makes perfect sense and I follow, but without success..

To change the logo I have to edit the Template.html - ok.

Example - I have created a seperate folder called "My Themes" and copied the Classic theme into there. Using Dreamweaver, if I change the logo on Template.html for anything else other than the original images in the images directory (e.g. logo, button image etc), no image will show on the site.

Even If I insert a jgp or Png file into the same directory and try that, or even if I rename my logo as site_logo, the same happens - nothing appears.

My site is: http://user-galleries.wildlife-galleries.co.uk/

Please help

Mark.

Moderators don't get annoyed unless people do stupid things like not read the docs or hijack threads. Saying "(Moderator -Please dont scream)" pre-emptively is a slap in the face.

But I'll try to help anyway. We need a link that shows your theme. What's your theme's folder name?

Sorry, I thought I included the link in the previous message - My themes folder name is "My_themes"

Capitalization matters on unix/linux systems. My Themes is not the same as My themes. That's why I couldn't find your theme the first time.

Your template is looking for the file here: http://user-galleries.wildlife-galleries.co.uk/images/banner_header2small.jpg and can't find it.

You need to make sure banner_header2small.jpg is in the gallery's images folder.

You need to make sure banner_header2small.jpg is in the gallery's images folder.
Better still: put the logo file into the "images" sub-folder of your custom theme folder and change reference in your theme's template.html accordingly.
Post a link to your actual theme folder so we can all take a look.

Hi

The following I was typing b4 the last post, but is still relevent.

1. I have renamed on local \ remote sever the folder to "my_themes".
2. I have ensured the my logo is in  " /user-galleries/themes/my_themes/images/banner_header2small.jpg "
3. I have uploaded via Dreamweaverthe entire directory my_themes

4. I have added my logo to the classic image folder and also adjusted the classic image template.html to reflect this change - same result, no picture.

If I go to my webpage, the image is still missing - Note:- hotlink is presently switched of (if this helps)

When making additions \ adjustments to the template.html, should I also be making adjustments to the theme.php or style sheet?

I am having some trouble finding the link to my folder - can you give me some ideas? (like is it user-galleries.wildlife.co.uk/public.html/.............. etc?

is this it: user-galleries.wildlife.co.uk/public_html/user-galleries/themes/my_themes ?

Please avoid renaming folders while getting support for an issue... it makes it hard for supporters to keep track. Here is the current theme: http://user-galleries.wildlife-galleries.co.uk/?theme=my_themes

Change this:
/user-galleries/themes/my_themes/images/banner_header2small.jpg

to:
themes/my_themes/images/banner_header2small.jpg

You're already in the user-galleries folder while using the subdomain so using that in the filepath is redundant and incorrect.

to add to what Thu said: in HTML, an absolute path can only point to folders within the webroot - in this particular case, an absolute link should point to /themes/my_themes/images/banner_header2small.jpg. Better still, use a relative link, seen from coppermine's root folder, in your case themes/my_themes/images/banner_header2small.jpg (note the leading slash for the absolute path).
The issues you have are being caused by using Dreamweaver - a WYSIWYG editor like Dreamweaver can only be used if you actually know your way around and know how to configure it properly. You'd better learn some HTML and use a plain text editor for such purposes, makes good and interessting learning.

Thank you for the advice - yes it works now and I am very grateful indeed!

HTML  - I will be looking into getting a book on the subject - thanks for your help.
