Hi !

Have run coppermine 1.3 with PHP4.3.7, mysql 4.0.20a, and IM6.03 working fine.... on Windows 2003 server Ent IIS6
When I installed this I hade no problem at all, but now Iam confused about all different version of all programs and what works together.

Now I have to set up a new server windows IIS6, and wounder what programs versions I should use to make coppermine 1.4.3 work properly. Should I use Mysql 5? what version of PHP and so on..

Could someone kind please tell me witch version of all above I should use, and point url links to the right program would be perfekt.
and does the install order of the above matter ?
and I like the easy way to install :)

Think there is many with same questions ?

Searched the forum and can't find any quickstep guide for this...
And make this thred tagged..

Best Regards
Stefan Krantz

Any server that meets the minimum requirements will work.

You should always use the latest stable version of the server software, refer to their sites for details on what that is currently.

If you don't know how to setup a server then don't. Is that a better answer ?

The installer found the ImageMagick 'convert' program in 'c:/im6/', however it can't be executed by the script.

You may consider using GD instead of ImageMagick.

So could some one please tell me what to do, basicly  ?

Have my own win2003, iis6 php4.1 and im6. mysql 4.x
some script access problem ?? what should I do ?

/Thanks

Yes: don't run your own webserver if you have no idea how to set it up ::).
The webserver needs read/execute permissions on the folder where ImageMagick's convert executable is located - in your case, the IUSR when running IIS (not "Everyone"!). Why don't you just use GD2 instead of ImageMagick? You could switch to ImageMagick later anyway. GD2 comes with PHP out-of-the-box.

Good answer by Nibbler, he suggested that you need to post server details. Bad reply by you - you come here for free support -making supporters mad at you is not a bright idea; behaving like a jerk won't win you friends around here. This board is meant for people who actually have a webserver up and running and working as expected, we're not going to hold your hand setting up your webserver in the first place (actually, you can hardly call Windows/IIS a webserver imo ;)).

Self-hosting is not recommended for non-pros at all, and there are better resources on the internet for webserver setup than the coppermine support board.

Outdated PHP version that has known security flaws. Update asap!

Merged the other identical thread you started with this one, as you're asking the very same thing there. Don't double-post, it makes supporters even more reluctant to help ::)

Ok, I have a problem with my installation, Where do I go ? The support forum for the product install... I post a Q , I hope that people with coppermine working could ponit my in the right direction, and not just answers like  RTM. or check the FAQ and so on.. Already done that, and I missed something.
If i went to a forum for help I expect help and not bad atidude.

/Thanks

so you have posted on the ImageMagick forum then, asking for support there ;)? Fine ::)

Look: the app Coppermine is just using one of two possible image libraries: either GD or ImageMagick. The coppermine core code is not related to those two libraries. If you haven't set those libraries up correctly, then coppermine can only come up with an error message that things aren't working as expected, nothing else. What should the poor little app do? Fix your server setup? It can't, it's just a plain web app. Why don't you do as I suggested and use GD instead of ImageMagick? If you must use ImageMagick, then fix it first. However, we can't tell you how, because this board isn't dedicated to "How do I set up a webserver and the libraries my apps need", but it's dedicated solely to Coppermine, nothing else.
Keep on complaining, that's what we're here for :-[. Buy a sports car and then complain to the owner of the desert you want to drive it in that the roads are so bumpy, or vice versa: complain to the car dealer. It's no use - drive your car on roads that it was built for...

Stisse

Iam not complaining, or want to be bad/rude, just hoped someone had the same problem and could say what to do..

/Peace.
