This is my final question of the night and one that's got me totally confused (you'll be pleased to know I've managed to solve most things myself!). I want to make some albums viewable only to selected users (primarily those featured in them) and to be hidden from sight for all other users. I know this could be done through passwords, but as there are a lot of albums that would quickly become an unmanagable solution.

I can see how to create secondary groups of users and think this is the most appropriate way to manage this. However I can't find a way to restrict viewing of albums to particular groups. Is there something I have missed or is there a better way of doing this?

Thanks again,
Tom

That looks perfect, thanks... but I'm not seeing the 'Album can be viewed by' dropdown menu. Any ideas?

Read the fourth line of text under the picture.

If you don't have that dropdown list at all, then you shouldn't have disabled Albums can be private in coppermine's config in the first place (default is enabled).

Thanks! Is there any way to allow this feature and not allow users to have their own albums (I'm thinking a zero quota of file space for them but will this cause confusion)?

not allow users to have their own albums
In coppermine's groups page, set "Personal gallery Allowed" to "no" (surprisingly) to disallow your users having albums of their own. Please read the documentation that comes with coppermine before asking any more questions.

Thanks, appreciate the help, as I said I've solved most problems myself, but that one is a (in my opinion) a deceptive route to what I'd imagine would be common requirement.
