Album list not working

i recently upgraded from cpg 1.1 to 1.2, now when users click on the category to view the albums in it, it doesn't show anything

It looks like you have removed the 'alblist' from the 'contents of main page' in config.

Put it back like this

breadcrumb/anycontent/catlist/alblist

I have shown breadcrumb and anycontent, but those are up to you.  I see from your site that you don't have breadcrumb set, so the only way back to home from the cat page is to hit the back button.
