Is there a difference in how 1.4.4 deals with URL links in the description fields compared to V1.3?

I just upgraded to 1.4.4 from 1.3 and noticed that the url links I have in the descriptions are now only 'clickable' when you are looking at a 'normal' view of the image and not when in thumbnail mode as it used to.

Have I missed something or is this just how it works now?
