red x's when uploading

When I upload files from the FTP, I go to batch add files and get nothing but red x's. I tried the following link: http://coppermine-gallery.net/tutorial/uploads/troubleshooting.php and i'm still having trouble. This is what comes up at the bottom of the screen. Can anyone help?
