Users cannot login

Some of my users can login and some can't. When they go to login it takes them to the welcome page and click continue but then it just takes them back and tells them to login.

Also I know i am not the only site with this problem. because a few of my friends are having this problem now too since they upgraded..

I am going crazy, I upgraded from 1.4.3 to 1.4.5

You might try changing the cookie name on your Config panel.  This would force everyone to login anew and might fix the problem.

You also might ask someone with the problem to force-refresh the page after logging in and to clear the browser's cache and your site's cookie to see if that fixes the problem.  (The latter should be automatically addressed if you rename the cookie as suggested above.)

What do you mean change the name. Just change it to anything. I don't want to mess anything up but I'm having the same problem. I can delete my cookies and I can login again, but I do not want my members to have to do this all the time.

yes , change the cookie name to somthing else, you will never loss anything, in this way your member automaticly forced to login for first time and there will be no clearing cookie anymore.
