I discovered a new way for Coppermine to show extremely high quality pictures!

Use that mod in the hacks forums, to display the images to fit them to full screen or whatever. And take out this info~> width=$dwidth or whatever and height=$dheight.

Then~> save that file, upload it and:

Upload a smaller version of the picture that you want to be shown (the hq pic)

Then~> go into your ftp program, and replace the 'full size of that pic' with the one you uploaded, and viola! coppermine shows a FULL Screen pic!

*I would have posted this into the hacks forum, but I am not a moderator! So, here you go! (until it is probably deleted or moved) lol

I think already a couple of people discovered this 'mod' ;) Nice to see it posted though.

You mean this one, I presume.

actually, this is not a mod, but a workaround. You can have coppermine display pics of whatever quality you want (if you upload them in hires), but the image libraries (be it ImageMagick or GD) will create thumbs and intermediates with reduced quality. This is not a limitation of coppermine, but the way it's supposed to work -> not everyone has got a broadband connection.
Of course you can manually replace the images once they are in the database with some that have higher quality (this has been pointed out rather often already).

P.S. We have a policy of "free speech" on this board, so posts do only get deleted if they're exact double postings (happens quite often) or contain illegal or non-coppermine related content (hardly ever happens). That's why your posting will of course not be deleted, but as I don't consider it to be a mod I won't move it to the "mods"-board. That's why you can't start new threads in the mods section - the label of that section (shown on the Forum index) says
QuoteModifications/Add-Ons/Hacks
Please note: do not ask for new features here - only post new threads if you actually have modified CPG and want to share it, so others can reply to it. Regular users can't start new threads in this board - post your hack on the support board instead - it will be moved here if it really is a new mod/hack.
