Hi.

Some people are hotlinking the pictures of my gallery. I was wondering if theres a code to not allow people see my pictures ?

Paver

This has been discussed in many threads on this forum.  Please search.  If your webserver is using Apache, you'll find a method using .htaccess to disable hotlinking.

For those who cannot use htaccess files to prevent hotlinking (e.g. on shared hosting servers where we do not have permissions to modify the rewrite engine) is there any other way of preventing hotlinking please? I have spoken to the host about using the htaccess file/rewrite engine method and they say absolutely not. Solution suggestions would be very welcome.

I don't know of any other way. When people hotlink to the images coppermine isn't involved atall.

Thanks for the reply Nibbler. I did find a couple more suggestions elsewhere but they don't seem to work either, so I guess I either live with it or change the image names and substitute a fingerwagging pic about not linking and see if they take the hint. ;)

Or change your webhost. ;)

I've done that several times already and the one I now have is brilliant - by far the best I've used with super support, so I can live with this small niggle pro temps. Once we upgrade to a managed server it won't be a problem anyhow.  Thanks anyhow for the suggestion.  8)
