Remove only Categorie breadcrumb. Is that possible???

Hello... I would like to remove the first link in breadcrumbs "categorie" (I change the name to Gallery)that link to index.php
My gallery start in http://www.ritus.dk/index.php?cat=1 because I have only User Galleries and in this categorie was not possible to display thumbnails.... sooo.... I redirect the first page to this link, but because this breadcrumbs user can go to index.php.
I have been looking around inside files to find how could I change but I can´t find out that!!!!

Somebody can help me?

That link GauGau linked mentions a theme customization to modify the breadcrumb.

This thread uses such a theme customization for the breadcrumb.  It is recommended to use theme customizations instead of hacks since it's much easier to upgrade later if you haven't hacked the core scripts.

So if you want to try to apply the theme customization in the thread above to do what you want and what is done in the thread GauGau linked, please do so and post your results so others can do so the "better" way.
