Failed to Create Directory Albums

Just put Coppermine on my server.  I've read your sticky, and gone through a search.  I can find questions, not answers.

I'm getting the following message:

Failed to create directory albums/userpics/1001 !

Can you help me with this problem?

Thank you.  We just printed out the "manual", have checked that all the "permissions" are correct and will set up the database and re-install.

Why do you want to re-install? Just set permissions as suggested.
