Hello

I have two different categories A. B
In  category A I have albums A1, A2, A3
In  category B I have albums B1, B2, B3

So, in album A1 I have:
- picture1 with keywords: family friends
- picture2 with keywords: friends

In album B1 there are no pictures uploaded, but the album has keyword: friends.
This album can be accessed by users in the  friends-group.

In album B2 there are no pictures uploaded, but the album has keyword: family.
And it can be accessed by users in the family-group.

NOW, I enter the photoalbum with a user under the family-group.  And I can only access the Category B - Album B1 BUT there are no pictures in this album  >:( !!!! Eventhough I have a picture with the keyword: friends  :'(

So I cannot link a single picture to multiple albums.  What am I doing wrong  ???

Thanks in advance  :)

as  you said you don't have any picture under B1 so you can't see any !!!!
the pictures are in A albums
each album have it own picture, not others !!!!

But the documentation says I only need to upload the picture once in an album, and edit the picture keywords with keywords that have other albums, and then this picture would appear automaticaly in the albums with the same keyword as the picture in the other album!   Doesn´t it say so?

What is then the procedure to upload a picture only once and make it appear in several other albums?  ???

Sami

sorry my bad , you are right , I told everyone to read documetation first but I didn't (since 1.3.3 I did not read it completely!!!) ::)
as documentation said it should work ! but let see what happen?
- it's there if you check it ,the picture is there but gallery didn't count it on status ,it says:0 files but when you go inside you can see the picture

:( Well, it worked for me (an Administrator) but the users could not see the linked files (although the Album description showed: 16 linked files.

the user can only see the files that reside inside the album.  The linked images cannot be seen either outside or inside the album.  :(

Please dont tell that linked files can only be seen by users with the same Group as the originaly loaded file?

???

Sorry, but that's the case. Linked files have the same permissions setting as the original file. An alternative is to put the original file in a public album and then link to that file in the private album.

Hi.

I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask, but here goes nothing...

Could there be such an option that the category would also show the linked files or the total number of files by default? Now when I look at my categories, only one of them has 1 albums and 105 files and the others show 1 albums / 0 files, 6 albums / 0 files etc. And still there are many linked photos in the other categories.

An album with only linked files looks something like this:
0 files, 17 linked files, 17 files total.

I would like to see the "files total" number in the category view. Is it possible somehow? Thanks for your answers in advance.

Regards,
-Harry
