folder permissions

After upgrading to 1.4.8  version check shows a red pencil on some folders.
It says they are writable and it is a security risk.
I have changed permissions to be read/execute only via FTP and I am still getting this report.
safe to ignore?

what should permissions be for the following?
bridge
docs
docs/pics
docs/theme
lang
plugins
plugins/sample
plugins/sef_urls
sql
themes
